unwählbar vs ungeeignet

unsuitable

'ungeeignet' and 'unwählbar' can both express that someone is not right for a role. However, 'ungeeignet' is much broader and can be used for people, things, places, or methods. 'unwählbar' belongs especially to the topic of elections: a person or party may be legally unable to be elected or unacceptable to many voters. The words can be confused when talking about candidates. In that case, 'ungeeignet' is more of a factual assessment of abilities or suitability. 'unwählbar' sounds more political and stronger, because it says: this person or party is not an option to vote for.
