The word is made up of “der Zugang” (access) and “die Daten” (data, plural). The “s” in between is a linking element that connects the two words. Literally, it means “data for access.”

'Passwort' and 'Zugangsdaten' both have to do with logging in to a system or website. The password is only one part of that: it is the secret string of characters. 'Zugangsdaten' usually means all the information you need to log in, for example the username and password together. The words can be confused because you need both when logging in. If you mean only the secret word, say 'Passwort'. If you mean the whole login package, say 'Zugangsdaten' (login credentials).
