'die Bedingung' and 'die Einschränkung' can both cause something not to apply simply freely or generally. A 'Bedingung' says what must be fulfilled for something to be possible. An 'Einschränkung' limits something or makes a statement less absolute. So it tends to say what does not apply, or what applies only partly. Learners may confuse the words because both occur in agreements or commitments. As a mnemonic: a 'Bedingung' opens the door only under a requirement; an 'Einschränkung' makes the space behind it smaller.
