Careful: 'die Parole' is not the same as the English word 'parole' (early release from prison). In German, 'die Parole' means 'slogan' or 'password'.

Motto and Parole can both briefly express a group’s shared direction. A Motto is more likely to serve as a general guiding principle. A Parole usually summarizes a political demand or group goal memorably and is often spread publicly.
