'Ausbildung' and 'Schulung' both have to do with professional learning. However, an 'Ausbildung' is a long path on which you learn a profession. It often lasts several years and leads to a career. A 'Schulung' is usually shorter and more targeted. There, you might learn a new computer program, a machine, or a specific rule, for example. The words can be confused because in both cases someone is learning something. If it is about the whole profession, 'Ausbildung' fits. If it is about a single course or a specific topic, 'Schulung' sounds more natural.
Vor der Arbeit an der neuen Maschine besucht das Team eine Schulung.
