'Auslieferung' is used when a person is handed over to the justice system of another country, for example because of criminal proceedings. Learners may confuse the words because both sound official and legal. The important point is: right of residence belongs to 'Abschiebung', while prosecution in another country belongs to 'Auslieferung'.
