'Die Bewertung' (evaluation/review) is the noun corresponding to the verb 'bewerten' (to evaluate/rate). Like many nouns ending in '-ung', it can describe both the process (the evaluating) and the result (the judgment).

When 'Bewertung' (evaluation/review) is plural or connected with a grade or an adjective like 'gut'/'schlecht' (good/bad), the result is meant. When it is about a process that takes time, the process is meant.

'Kritik' and 'Bewertung' can both express a judgment about something. 'Bewertung' is more neutral and can be positive, negative, or mixed, for example a grade or stars online. 'Kritik' puts more emphasis on pointing out mistakes, weaknesses, or problematic points. Both words can occur with books, films, or pieces of work, but they have different focuses. They are easy to confuse because a 'Bewertung' can also contain 'Kritik'. When it is generally about a judgment, 'Bewertung' fits. When the negative aspects or a detailed discussion of weaknesses are especially meant, 'Kritik' fits better.
