Reklame vs Werbung
advertising / ad
'Werbung' and 'Reklame' can often be very similar. Both mean messages or measures intended to make a product, service, or event known. 'Werbung' is the normal and neutral expression today. 'Reklame' is also understood, but it often sounds somewhat older or more colloquial. 'Reklame' is used especially for visible advertising media such as posters, neon signs, or ads. It is easy to confuse the words because in many everyday situations they mean almost the same thing. With 'Werbung', you will usually sound more natural.
