constitution / condition
'die Verfassung' and 'die Satzung' can both contain written basic rules. The important difference is the area they belong to: a 'Verfassung' belongs to a state and describes its political and legal order. A 'Satzung' belongs more to an association, a foundation, or a similar organization. The words can be confused because both sound very official. In practical terms: states have a 'Verfassung', associations have a 'Satzung'.
