Typical adjectives
When talking about grammar, 'Verb' (verb) is often combined with certain adjectives to describe its type. Examples are: 'starkes/schwaches Verb' (strong/weak verb), 'regelmäßiges/unregelmäßiges Verb' (regular/irregular verb), or 'trennbares/untrennbares Verb' (separable/inseparable verb).

Das Verb „gehen“ ist ein unregelmäßiges Verb.
The verb 'gehen' (to go) is an irregular verb.
Typical verbs
The most important verb used together with 'Verb' (verb) is 'konjugieren' (to conjugate). You conjugate a verb to adapt it to person, tense, and number.

Verb vs Prädikat
predicate
'Verb' and 'Prädikat' both belong to grammar and often have to do with the action in a sentence. A 'Verb' is a part of speech, for example 'gehen' (to go), 'lernen' (to learn), or 'sein' (to be). The 'Prädikat' is a part of the sentence and contains the conjugated verb. However, it can also consist of several words, for example in 'hat gelernt' (has learned) or 'will kommen' (wants to come). The words are easy to confuse because in a simple sentence the predicate often consists of only one verb. Memory tip: the verb is a word; the predicate is its function in the sentence.
Verb
Im Satz „Lisa kocht Suppe“ ist „kocht“ das Verb.
In the sentence “Lisa is cooking soup,” “is cooking” is the verb.
Prädikat
Im Satz „Tom hat lange gewartet“ besteht das Prädikat aus zwei Wörtern.
In the sentence “Tom has waited a long time,” the predicate consists of two words.
