'Die Kündigung' (termination / notice) is the noun corresponding to the verb 'kündigen' (to terminate / to give notice). The ending '-ung' is very commonly used to make a feminine noun from a verb that describes the action or its result.

In a work context, an employee can 'seine Kündigung einreichen' (submit their notice) or 'seine Kündigung geben' (give notice). An employer 'spricht eine Kündigung aus' (issues a termination). Both parties can 'eine Kündigung erhalten' or 'bekommen' (receive a termination notice).

'die Lösung' and 'die Kündigung' can both have to do with the end of a contract. However, 'die Kündigung' normally means that one side ends an employment contract, rental agreement, or similar contract. It can also be the letter used to communicate this. 'die Lösung' in this sense is more formal and general: it is about the cancellation or ending of a contractual connection. Learners may confuse the words because both refer to an ending. As a practical rule: with work, housing, or a termination letter, 'Kündigung' is usually more natural; 'Lösung' sounds more legal or very formal.
Nach der Kündigung musste Herr Kaya seine Wohnung innerhalb von drei Monaten verlassen.
After the termination, Mr. Kaya had to leave his apartment within three months.
Die Lösung des Vertrags ist nur mit Zustimmung beider Seiten möglich.
