To contribute an idea, suggestion, knowledge, or skills to a discussion, project, or group.

'Einbringen' (to contribute / yield) is a separable verb. The prefix 'ein' comes at the end in a main clause, but remains attached to the verb in a subordinate clause.

If you want to express that someone is personally getting involved, use the verb reflexively: 'sich einbringen' (to get involved). It is often followed by the preposition 'in' with the accusative.

When something produces a profit or return for a person, that person is in the dative. The structure is: [what?] brings [to whom?] [what?] in.

In discussions or at work, abstract things are often contributed. Typical nouns are: suggestions, ideas, experiences, knowledge, or also criticism.

In an agricultural context, 'einbringen' (to bring in) is used almost exclusively in the fixed combination 'die Ernte einbringen' (to bring in the harvest).

to attach / bring up
'anbringen' and 'einbringen' can both appear in conversations, projects, or groups. 'anbringen' means that you bring up a comment, question, or wish, often at an appropriate moment. 'einbringen' is more about contributing something, for example an idea, experience, or knowledge. 'sich einbringen' also means to get actively involved. The words can be confused because both have to do with speaking and participation. As a memory aid: you bring up a question with 'anbringen', but you contribute your ideas or get yourself involved in a project with 'einbringen'.
Im Verein bringt sich Sofia mit vielen neuen Ideen ein.
